Imagine that you are a communication consultant who was retained to assist a company senior executive to make his team-oriented projects more efficient and productive. Before working on this assignment research the role of a consultant. The current teams are working but have inadequacies, and they are not as effective as they could be. The teams are usually given one- to two-week deadlines on projects, and each member must contribute equally. Each team member often has other projects he or she needs to complete individually, as well. The team members are located in different geographic locations.

The company executive is aware that several competitors have been implementing new methods of communication within their teams and have been producing high-quality output in less time.

How do we teach adolescents to communicate effectively? 

You will need to do some research on adolescent communication. Learn strategies, what works, what doesn’t work, skills. After doing the research, write about the strategies YOU believe are most important in answering the two questions.

Sociologists attempt to understand why members of a society engage in deviant and criminal behavior. From a macro perspective, deviance occurs when the means to achieve culturally defined goals are blocked. This may be due in part to structural inequalities and power imbalances. On the micro level, there are three theories that provide explanations for deviance and crime.
Consider how socialization influences individuals to choose deviant and criminal behavior. Becker, Sutherland and Hirschi have three different theories about how socialization contributes to such behavior. Becker’s theory is called labeling theory, Sutherland’s is called differential association theory, and Hirschi’s is known as control theory. Each provides a unique explanation to help us understand deviance and crime in our everyday lives.
