I have had many different experiences with different training in both my present and previous jobs. One training that i felt was effective was our department supervisor training (DST). This training went over the different fundamentals of management and it was meant to help shape current and up and coming supervisors. The reason why i thought it was a good training program was because it was given by other store managers in the district. So they would share their experience and get to know the up and coming. This training was very organized and it was interactive.
