The purpose of this assignment is for learners to gain extensive knowledge about the origin of leaders and leadership theories.

Create a 12- to 16-slide PowerPoint^® presentation justifying your conclusion(s) about whether leaders are born or made. Below is an idea I had to create this PowerPoint that I would greatly appreciate any help on:

Slide 2 Introduction (Use to talk about if leaders are really born or made?)

Slide 3.What is a leader / Define leader

Slides 4 & 5 Traits(Maybe explain traits regarding if leaders are born or made to help justify position?) As in what are traits of a good leader? Then justify them? (I am leaning on towards leaders being made to try and help justify some positions).

Slides 6 & 7. Leadership styles (Pull two examples from the theories listed below)

Slides 8 & 9.Applied Theories (examples) (Pull three main theories to talk about from list below) I chose a total of five to help with slides 6-9:

Trait Theory (1930’s – 1940’s)

The purpose of this assignment is to increase learners’ comprehension of leadership styles and the effect of the styles on organizational environments.

Create a 1,400 word analysis (excluding cover and reference page words) addressing the following:

• Introduction
• Identify one theory that appeals to you the most from the leadership theories discussed in your powerpoint assignment and in the text.(For this one, I was wanting to choose Transformational Leadership Theory since it seems like a theory where leaders can pay close attention to the needs and want of their people, for my understanding).
• Research two local companies, one in which the leadership seems to exemplify this leadership theory, and one that seems to be in direct contrast (Having trouble in picking two companies that would exemplify my chosen leadership theory above).
• Analyze how each leadership style might affect the respective company’s performance and alignment to values (For this one, I was thinking the five leadership styles that I chose to work on for the PowerPoint Project; Trait Theory, Transformational Leadership Theory, Fiedler’s Contingency Theory, Path-Goal Theory, and Strategic Contingencies Theory).
• Discuss which leadership style to which you are most aligned. ( For this one, Transformational Leadership Theory).
• Discuss how you would practice this leadership style in your current work environment. If you are not currently employed, discuss how you would practice this style of leadership in a future job you might like to hold (I’m currently not employed and would like some help on how to use the type of leadership style I chose to practice in for a future job of employment).
