1. What is the purpose of a Measurement System Analysis? Why is it important? Provide examples of measurement systems.
2. Name and Describe types of Measurement Systems Analysis techniques? Please perform a compare and contrast of each technique against the others.
3. What are tools leveraged to identify causes with process inefficiencies? Why is Causal Analysis important?
4. Pareto Chart: Table 1 depicts the number of problems encountered at an Auto Mechanic Shop during the month of January.

a. Use excel to create a Pareto Chart. Make sure to include the cumulative percentage line.
b. What does the Pareto Chart tell you about the data collected?
c. Which problems should the shop specialize in based the chart?
Assume:
· Breaks cost $150 to repair and takes 3 hours.
· Transmission cost $500 to repair and takes 6 hours.
· Engines cost $1000 to repair and takes 48 hours.
· Suspension cost $750 to repair and takes 5 hours.
· Power / Electrical cost $1150 to repair and take 72 hours.
· Fluids cost $50 to repair and takes 1 hour.
· Starters cost $300 to repair and takes 4 hours.
d. Construct a Pareto Chart based on Cost Impact, and another on Time Impact.
e. How are these different than your original Pareto Chart? What does this tell you about your decision under (c).
5. 5 Whys: Perform a 5 Whys on causes for the highest outcome of question 4a.
6. Fishbone Diagram: Construct a Cause-and-Effect Diagram for the Auto Mechanic Scenario. Use the problems as your categories and create your own causes.
7. What is Sampling?
8. What is the difference between population versus process sampling?
9. Name factors in sample selections and describe each (in your own words).
10. What are the best and worst ways to choose samples? Why are they best, why are they worst?
