An annotated bibliography is an alphabetized list of sources with an “annotation” or commentary under each source. Annotations can summarize, evaluate, or critique a source. They can also reference specific areas in a source that are important to your research process or writing. Most importantly, for the purpose of this class, your annotated bibliography is meant to be a point of reference to help organize your research. What you choose to include in your annotations should be whatever you think will help you most as you write your Exploratory Essay.
