How much money would I need if I wanted to retire at 50 and withdrawal $65k per year till I was 100

Hello this is a question based on present value (PV), future value (FV), and annuities.

How much money would I need if I wanted to retire at 50 and withdrawal $65k per year till I was 100.  A few more details.  I am 30 years old now, the $65k would need to keep up with inflation and whatever lump sum I had at 50 years old would grow at 7% and when I die at 100, my balance should be $0.  The 65K is in today’s dollars, so it would need to be adjusted to the FV of 20 years: 65(1+.03)^20.

I was looking at using the formula for a growing annuity payment (http://www.financeformulas.net/formulaimages/Growing%20Annuity%20Payment%202.gif)  but the issue is that it doesn’t deduct from the principal lump some (I think).  Who knows, this formula could actually be all that I need and I already have my answer.

In this Project, you will plan a vacation and create a budget

You wrote an essay and won the grand prize in the “Global Getaway” contest. Congratulations! You now have 5,000 U.S. dollars to spend on an international vacation. There’s only one catch—to claim your prize, you need to create and submit a budget that shows how you plan to spend the money. According to contest rules, you can spend the money only on the vacation—not for any other purpose. Whether you are managing money for a vacation, your job, or daily life, being able to create a budget is an essential skill to have.

Directions

In this Project, you will plan a vacation and create a budget. The total cost of the trip must be close to but not exceed 5,000 USD.

Part One: Plan

  1. Spend some time daydreaming about your vacation, and keep notes in a Planning Document as you do so. List your answers to the following questions:
    • Where will you go—Europe? South America? Africa? Asia?
    • How long will you be away?
    • How many people will accompany you? Are any of them seniors or children (who may qualify for discounts)?
    • What would you like to do—see historical and cultural sights? Go hiking or mountain climbing? Relax on a beach in the Caribbean? Take a guided tour or cruise?
    • Will you stay in hotels or camp out?
  2. Use the links provided in the Project resources or conduct your own search to begin gathering travel costs for your vacation. Include links to websites you use.
  3. Make decisions about where you will go, when, for how long, etc.

Submit your completed Planning Document as a deliverable for this Project.

Part Two: Budget Spreadsheet

Create a vacation budget using a spreadsheet. Include the following within your spreadsheet:

  • The number of people traveling
  • Methods of travel (airplane, car, train, etc.)
  • Accommodations (hotel, ship, camping, etc.)
  • Food allowance
  • Cost of activities (sightseeing, etc.)
  • Other expenses (child care, house sitting, job coverage, etc.)

In addition to the items above, convert one of your costs from U.S. Dollars (USD) into the currency of the country you are traveling to. For example, if food in France will cost 40 USD per day per person, convert that amount to Euros using the appropriate exchange rate. Show the formula you used to convert the amount within your spreadsheet.

Draw the scatter diagram of Y = ‘Annual % ROI’ against X = ‘Cost’, assignment help

For these project assignments throughout the course you will need to reference the data in the ROI Excel spreadheet. Download it here.

Using the ROI data set:

For each of the two majors:

  1. Draw the scatter diagram of Y = ‘Annual % ROI’ against X = ‘Cost’.
  2. Obtain b0 and b1 of the regression equation defined as y ̂ = b0 + b1X and the coefficient of determination (r2) from the Excel regression output.
  3. Draw the fitted regression line on the scatter diagram.
  4. Calculate the estimated ‘Annual % ROI’ when the ‘Cost’ (X) is $160,000.
  5. Test the hypothesis:
    • H0: β1 = 0
    • Ha: β1 ≠ 0
  6. Write a paragraph or more on any observations you make about the regression estimates, coefficient of determination, the plots, and the results of your hypothesis tests.

Choose one (1) of the following case studies for Assignment 2:

Case 9.1: Unprofessional Conduct?
Located on page 342 of your textbook

  1. Do you believe the Board of Education violated her right to privacy? Were they justified in firing her? Explain two to three (2-3) major reasons why or why not.
  2. Was Pettit’s behavior unprofessional or immoral? Do you believe she was unfit to teach? Provide a rationale for your position.
  3. If teachers have good performance inside the classroom, should they also be held to a higher moral standard outside the classroom? Explain why or why not.
  4. Analyze five (5) behaviors you believe would show unprofessional or immoral conduct for a teacher.

Case 8.4: Have Gun, Will Travel…to Work
Located on page 312 of your textbook

  1. Do you have not only a legal, but a moral right to own a gun? Do you believe that you have either a moral or a legal right to park a car with a loaded gun in a privately owned parking lot, regardless of what the lot’s owner wants?
  2. In your view, do employees have either a moral or a legal right to park cars with guns in them in the company parking lot? What do you believe should be the property rights and safety concerns of employers?
  3. Do you think state legislatures are right to get involved, or should the matter be left to companies and employees to settle?
  4. Because the workplace is the company’s private property, the company could choose to allow employees to bring guns not only into the parking lot, but also into the workplace itself. Are there ever circumstances in which doing so might be reasonable? Or would the presence of guns automatically violate the rights of other employees to be guaranteed a safe working environment?
